Mitten Researchers: I have in my possession a copy of a petition from 1784 protesting the construction of a dam on Shearman's Creek at the Juniata (Perry County). The second name on the petition is James Myton, which I always thought might be Mitten. Someone may have secured the names while travelling up or downstream.
