The Burkharts were an allied family of my Dillers. In a manuscript it says Rev Abraham Burkhart was born 1820 and died in 1889 at the age of 64 years 4 months and 24 days. That doesn't add up. That would be 1884 not 1889. The online transcript of the "Cemetery Records Collected by Jeremiah Zeamer circa 1905 Cumberland County, Pennsylvania" at the Cumberland GenWeb site (http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacumber/) say "Burkhart, Abraham d 12-25-1859, b 8-31-1820, Rev." The problem with the 1859 date is the 1870 census - I have a photocopy ( not one of my chicken scratch transcriptions) I made of the 1870 Federal Census for Pennsylvania Cumberland County Frankford Twp. It lists a "Burkhart, Abrm" age 49 (born c.1819 / 1820) with the wife and 6 of the children you would expect (with all of the ages almost perfect-that's scary). So all three agree he was born c.1820 ; but did he die in 1859, 1884 or 1889 ? Or do we get to pick another number out of the air ? Would appreciate any help David
