The Evening Sentinel, Carlisle, Mon., July 17, 1916 The Death Record Washington Bear died at his home on Long's Gap road on the line between Perry and Cumberland counties, Saturday afternoon of catarrah of the stomach, aged 77 years. He was a civil war veteran. His wife died last spring and among surviving children are Mrs. Sarah Wolf, of Carlisle, Mrs. Alice Finkenbinder, and Mrs. William Wert, North Middleton, John, Walnut Bottom road, Washington Jr., of Frankford, Emma, of Harrisburg, and Levi at home. The remains were taken to Perry county for interment.
