Good morning, Tom Thank you for the information about McLaughlin/Laughlin of Cumberland County. James Kilgore and family were residents of Green Spring, Newton Twp, Cumberland County from something like 1754 until his death in 1771. He had been present in the area since 1734, having at one time owned land where Carlisle was established. Big Spring Presbyterian church was where certain marriages, etc. took place in the Kilgore family. Alexander Laughlin must have been a close friend, I do not think he was related to the kilgores. As I read through the various documents of that era I am impressed by the number of close associates these people had. There seemed always to be someone to name as guardian for the children, or to witness wills and deeds. Please keep me in mind if you should come across some Kilgore information.
