    3. Yes, it IS important to capitalize surnames ... and the place to start is with the Subject line. I now have Outlook Express and these digests come through as attachments; each one has to be opened separately. IF the Surname(s) are IN the Subject line and are CAPITALIZED, one quickly can scan down the list of messages to see if there is content of interest. To put Roll Call or use the Digest #, or Searching for ... etc., in the Subject heading is meaningless and wastes my time. Most genealogy mailing lists try to stress this point of putting SURNAMES in the SUBJECT line as being of first and foremost importance, with limited degrees of success. Like most persons in this busy world of ours, I don't have time to check the content of every message on these long digest lists to look for a reference to a name I am researching. I've gotten to the point where, rather than work through the messages, one by one, I just delete the entire thing. We so easily could save each other measurable amounts of time by making a habit of following this simple rule. Thank you.
