couple of Koons mentions in the 1904? bio book for Cumberland county which I believe was done by Jeremiah Zeamer.... The one mentions Isaac Koons and wife Jane Carnahan, 9 boys and one girl who died young. Long discussion in this bio of the family tract "Happy Retreat" and who owned it from the mid 1700s till its present owner Joseph Koons. Isaac said to have come from Lancaster co. via Franklin co. Grandfather not known in this bio. IN the second Koons bio [Joseph Rankin, MD] of Churchtown, his father listed as a Jacob with about the same list of siblings as Isaac above..... This bio lists the father of Jacob as an Isaac of Lancaster area.
