    1. [PACUMBER] Re: HOUSERS of CUMBERLAND COUNTY
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Houser-Shaffer-Snyder Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JaB.2ACE/268.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: In answer to your message I do not know too much on the Houser's only what I have gotten fron the 1860 census as I could not find him in the 1850 census so I'm assuming he may or may have not been married prior to 1852 as there's a lot of John Houser's in Pa. in that time period.I had found a record where a John Houser had married a Catherine I think it was in Silver Springs as the County was Cumberland, Pa.Where I found the John Houser in 1860 was in Rye County in Perry County which was formed out of part of Cumberland County. These counties in Pa. were all cut up into the present Counties as Cumberland, Lancaster,Berks, Norththampton, and Northumberland were your biggest Counties in colonial time in Eastern Pa.It very possible that David and John were brothers or cousins as there were a lot of Houser's in eastern Pa.If I find any other facts on your David I'll let you know.Thank for the reply.
