    2. There is a William FERGUSON buried in the Big Spring Presbyterian cemetery at Newville. During the Revolutionary War, he built wooden-wheeled carriages to support the cannons made by William DENNING at Washingtonburg, Carlisle. "Washingtonburg" was an early name for the Carlisle Barracks, and had an artillery school and a shop for making implements of war.
