    3. Those frustrated by trying to figure out townships (as I was) might invest in DeLorme Street Atlas 2003. Township maps can be found for some counties on the web, but by no means all. Street Atlas has them in all states that have such, and you can zoom to more detail that is provided by most web pages. The Street Atlas database also has a fairly good inventory of active cemeteries. Combined with a GPS, it is a great tool for finding your way around unfamiliar territory. And I use the GPS to mark old cemeteries I find, on the map. Small waterways are better found on the earlier Street Atlas 9. 2003 is not an update of 9 but rather an entirely new program. 9 unfortunately did not have township information. 9 is in my opinion easier to use and has more attractive maps.
