Marcia: A search of the 1810 census index shows a Frederick Frank in E. Hanover, Dauphin County, pg. 73. On the same page are Christian and Henry Zering. On page 74, which seems to move from E. Hanover Township to Halifax Township, are Ludwig Zering and George Zering. Ludwig is over 45 and enumerated with a large, older family. Schafer and Popp surnames seem more relegated to York County. References to Mayern were difficult to discern as the spelling variation is tremendous. Spelling variations for names like Vieman and Viehle are also difficult. Don't know whether to look in the V or Ws. Hope this provided some clues. E. Hanover/Halifax in Dauphin seems like a good place to start, followed by York County if Dauphin fails. Kathy

I think(not sure) that page 73 is also Halifax, I have a deed dated July of 1810 mentioning Frederick FRANCK buying land from George RAUSH(sp). (did you find a date that the census was taken?) Thank you for including the Ludwig ZERING information, the Ludwig who married Betzi POPP may have been a son. Thanks again, Marcia Fronk
