Hi Diane, I haven't been reviewing or working on my PA searches for several months, but I seem to remember that there may have been a Meeks Kelly who was a early trader and settler who was in the same areas as Fergus Moorhead. This included extended, early portions of Cumberland which then became several different counties. Try Bedford, Hungtingdon, Indiana, Armstrong, possibly Franklin and Adams, as well as Juniata, and Mifflin. I do know that I have seen 'Meeks' used as a man's given name several times. I have no idea if it was originally a surname, as Fergus Moorhead was given his mother's maiden name for his given name.
