    1. Re: [PACUMBER] PA Patterson...
    2. Robert: I do not have any information on your William Patterson, but perhaps you might be able to help me. I have a Robert Edmiston, Presbyterian, may have been an Irish immigrant, may have lived in Cumberland Co., PA in the mid to late 1700's, and who bought 100 acres on Stoners Creek in Bourbon Co ca 1783 and may have lived there until he died, inconveniently intestate, in 1798. He may have married Rebecca Killough, d/o Allen Killough of Cumberland Co., PA, who died 1787, leaving 1000 acres, part of which was known as "Three Cousins." which Robert Edmiston sold to Thomas Edmiston in 1793. Robert's children moved to Ross Co., OH, and his son, Robert [m Rebecca Smith in Lexington in 1802], moved on to Logan Co., OH in 1823. One of their daughters, Mary (Polly) Edmiston married an Alexander Patterson, presumably in Logan Co., OH ca 1825. Alexander and Mary may have moved to near Dayton OH and were still living [somewhere] when her father's will was probated in 1847. They had 3 daughters and 2 sons, one named Newell Patterson. I have traced most of the children and grandchildren of Robert Edmiston, d 1798, but I cannot find Alexander and Mary Patterson. Because of the Cumberland Co., PA and Lexington connections, I thought you might have the Edmiston name in your database, or might be able to tell me if there is any connection between my Edmistons and your Pattersons. Thanks for reading this! Hope to hear from you. Michelle Rush
