    3. Hello Wilmer - By any chance, do you have access to the 1798 Index to Cumberland Taxes? If so, might a family by the name of CROTHERS appear there? I've been trying to trace my James Crothers, who may have had a brother John. They owned farms in Phelps, New York next to each other. In 1836,they split; James took his family to Canada, while John moved to Rochester. But both claimed they were born in Pennsylvania, and another researcher thinks she traced John to Cumberland County. I haven't been able to find any birth records, thusfar - James was born circa 1806, and John 1810. Thanks for any information you might have!
