    1. Re: [PACUMBER] Pa. Archives, 5th series, Volume VI
    2. Joe, Martha Beatty, b. 21 May 1748 Antrim Twp, Cumberland, PA d. 12 Aug. 1881, buried in the Johnston burying ground, near Shady Grove, Franklin Co., PA. This is from "Pennsylvania Women During the Revolution" _http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/cumberland/bios/john0001.txt_ (http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/cumberland/bios/john0001.txt) . There is also an article in Engles Notes & Queries S 4 V 1 pg. 327, which I found in my local library. If you don't have access to it I would be happy to send it to you. She is pretty well documented under the Johnston name in Franklin Co. which used to be Cumberland Co. The Kittochtinny Historical Society has volumes that have information about the Johnston's and I believe the Beatty's also. Thomas's father James was one of the first settler's in Cumberland/Franklin Co. There are a couple houses still standing around Shady Grove. If you want you may contact me at my personal email address. Nancy
