Good Morning, After years of searching, I do believe I have found my gr gr grandfather, John P. Thumma. I was always looking for Henry, as that is what I thought his name was...even have a census with that name. What a mess a nick name can cause. Anyway, John P. Thumma, buried in the Rehobeth Cemetery near Walnut Bottom is my gr gr grandfather. Last seen in the 1880 cesus with his wife Susan (Wolf) Thumma and two young sons. I have received a copy of his pension records and he died in 1890/91. By 1900 the two sons, Harry P. (or Peter as he is listed as a child) and George W. are both living on their own as young adults and Susan is nowhere to be found. I believe that my Susan Thumma may be the same Susan Thumma that married George Snoke and is buried in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg. A George Snoke did sign as a witness for Susan on the Pension Record. In the 1910 Census, Shippensburg Middle Ward, Cumberland, Pennsylvania I do find a George and Susan Snoke (would be the age of my Susan (Wolf) Thumma) listed with a 27 year old daughter, N(V)elda. Which would give her a birth year of 1883. So this could possibly be Georges daugher to a first marriage. The census does lis this as a second marriage for both and does show that Susan has two other children. Fourty year old Sallie Spence is also listed as a Step-Daughter living in the household, widowed, no children. How could I find more out about the marriage of George and Susan Snoke? If anyone can help in anyway...push me in the right directions, please do... Thanks....and God Bless....Susan ________________________________________________________________________ Check out AOL.com today. Breaking news, video search, pictures, email and IM. All on demand.
