Ballew (circa 1918 to 24 October 1944), the son of Oscar and Myrtle Ballew. Herbert was an Army Private First Class with the U.S. Army Finance Department in the Philippines when World War II statred. He was aboard the Japanese Hellship Arisan Maru on 24 October 1944 when it was torpedoed by the USS Shark. Herbert is still listed as Missing In Action. I have no connection with the Ballew Family.
