I found out that he was not a Darhower, but I keep hearing he's a Bowermaster. Someone wrote me and said that no one has a straight answer. I've heard that there was supposedly racial tension in the family or that he was abused by his original parents. Someone did in fact research the Darhower family for us until we discovered that he wasn't related to them after all. George supposedly went by Bowermaster even as a young man and didn't actually change his name until after he was married to Sarah Bitner. He was never officially adopted by the Darhowers.
