Unfortunately, I don't have anything about the ancestry of either one of them. The following is what I have: Supplied by Bob Gordon (no relation) Shelby County IN - 5/2000 The National Volunteer, November 24, 1853 Died --- at his residence five miles east of Shelbyville, on Sabbath night the 20th inst., Mr. Archibald Gordon, in the 83rd year of his age. Mr. Gordon was born in Cumberland Co., Penn. on the 10th of September 1771. From Penn. he moved to Ohio and resided several years near Oxford----whence he removed to this county before its organization in 1821----- and continued in it till his death. He was well known among the first settlers as one of its pioneers. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years. Same paper December 8, 1853 Notice --- John M. Gordon and William N. Morris, died very suddenly on Sunday morning at an advanced age. Probate Order Bk 2 page 140 In petition for assignment of widow's interest in estate of Archibald Gordon dec. are mentioned; Elizabeth Gordon widow, John M. and William R. Gordon, Elizabeth O. and William Bennett, Maria L. and Philip Duchmier, Maria L. and Silas Leek,. Also Nancy E., Polly a., Harriet M. Eliza A. and James William Morris --- all minors. Sept. 2, 1856 Complete Rec. Probate Bk 1 page 602 In final settlement of estate of Zaccheus Bennett dec. is mentioned his widow Rachel and what seems to be his other heirs; John M. Gordon, John H. Myer and William Bennett. June 1854 ---------------------------------------- Archibald GORDON listed in the 1800 census of Peters Township, Franklin County PA: Age 26-45, daughter under 10, wife in 16-26 age range.
