Barbour, 83, died at home of niece Alice Shannon whom he was visiting in Newville, after being ill for a week. Born July 7, 1863, in Mt Holly Springs to the late John and Elizabeth Peters Barbour. Survived by daughter Mrs C Blanche Varner and brother William Barbour. Rev. Charles H Davis officiated with burial in Mt Holly Cemetery. Burial: Mount Holly Springs Cemetery Mount Holly Springs Cumberland County Pennsylvania, USA Plot: row 2 N There are quite a few Barbours shown as buried at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. Because of the above info showing Edward's mother's name as Elizabeth, I checked the 1860 census and found: Series: M653 Roll: 1102 Page: 818 1860 - Carlisle P.O., S. Middleton Twp., Cumberland Co., PA - 7/11/1860 Barber, John C. - 27 - farm laborer - $400/150 -- Elizabeth - 26 -- Mary - 6 -- Anna - 3 -- Margaret - 1 -- William - 84 - cooper PA for all. Since Edward's mother shows up in the 1880 as Ann E., I suspect that this Elizabeth is the same person as Anna (1870) and Ann E. (1880).
