Regarding Laura: Since I only found Edward in 1920, I was wondering if the 1st time they show up together was in the 1930. And, considering their ages, if they were shown as single or married. Unfortunately, Heritage Quest Online does not have the 1930 census indexed, and there's a few wards to Carlisle in 1930, so I did not have easy access to that particular information. But, I just did a search for Blanche in 1920 and found her with Laura: Series: T625 Roll: 1556 Page: 21 1920 - 1-WD Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA - 1/5/1920 Varner*, Blanche - head - rent - f - w - 35 - married - beader/shoe factory -- Laura - dau. - f - w - 15 - single - none PA/PA/PA for both. *indexed as Varne, looks like Varner to me.
