I am wondering if anyone knows or has any ideas on the whereabouts of Rehoboth Church (Walnut Bottom Road near Lees Cross Roads) records prior to the 1920s? I have been to Cumberland County Historical Society in Carlisle, Newville Historical Society, and Shippensburg Historical Society with no luck or leads. Since the church was razed back in the 1970s most people guess the old records wound up at someone's house. So, if anyone knows people who used to attend there before it joined with Trinity United Methodist, please ask them about the old Rehoboth church records. I am specifically interested in baptism and marriage records from the 1850s-1900 pertaining to William B. Morrow, wife Anna Maria Evans, and their 11 or so children. I know where they are buried, or most of them, which is Rehoboth Cemetery on Walnut Bottom Road--but am trying to move back a generation. Any leads or information would be appreciated. I have thought about taking out an ad in the local newspapers--has anyone tried that and gotten positive results? Thank you. -- Nora Avery Florida
