    2. Hi Siobhan, I'm not sure of the thread on this message in respect to Baker Cemetery, but... 1. Monroe township was named before John was born. 2. There is a Baker cemetery near Churchtown in Monroe Twp. 3. I have a Samuel Gleim and wive Ann Hoover buried there who had a son Levi, 1833-1902 who married Sarah Vanasdal. They are buried in Springville Cemetery. I know nothing of her lineage, but am reasonably sure that Vanasdal is a corruption of Van Ar(t)sdalen Tony

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JaB.2ACE/2037.1.2.1.3 Message Board Post: Hello. I read your notes about finding Jacob Bowman. I am also looking for a Jacob Bowman from Bedford County, PA. He may be one of the Jacob Bowman's listed in the 1790 Bedford census. I know that he married Barbara Martin Hay (1785-1867), wdiow of Valentin (Simon ?) Hay in 1824. I found a copy of a sale of land in 1825 to Conrad Martin, Barbara's brother. They had one son, Samuel Bowman, who was married in Montgomery, Ohio. This is also where Barbara died. Jacob is a mystery. I can find nothing about his parents, date of birth, death, etc. I spent one day at the Pioneer Historical Society in Bedford, PA.. They may be able to help you in your search. I would appreciate any advice or help you can provide (I am new at this and am just "getting my feet wet").

    1. Re: [PACUMBER] Woods married Mary _____ and settled in Clermont County, OH
    2. J & S Mills
    3. Have you tried the OHCLERMO list to see if you can learn more about these names? Clermont Co marriages are complete except for one book, which appears to be earlier than your marriage of Mary to Unknown Woods. If you try the Clermont list, Hermon Fagley and others will have good suggestions and information. I'd try to find more about Hester Bowman. Some Bowmans came with Pences and Zerkles to Adams/Brown. They were formerly from the Shenandoah area of VA. Bowman is also one of the Brethren (German Baptist or Dunker) surnames. You might search the Archives of the BRETHREN list for a Hester Bowman. There were also some Brethren congregations in and around Cumberland Co, but I don't know enough about their locations to recommend how to research them. 1. [PACUMBER] David Meals and Caroline Louise Fortney
    2. In this season of miracles, can anyone tell me if David Meals born 1843, son of Ferdinand Meals and Catherine Fehl, is the spouse of Caroline Louise Fortney, born 1845, daughter of Christian Fortney and Catherine Harmon? I have been trying to help an elderly cousin discover his grandfathers family. My first clue is the 1880 census listing Christian and Catherine Fortney, South Middleton, Cumberland, Pennsylvania and their grandson, Harvey Meals, my cousins Grandfather (at least the dates and place is correct). Additional information, Harvey Leon Meals married Mary Rebecca Swigert in 1893 in Beverly, New Jersey. They migrated to Mercer County, Illinois and had one daughter, Ada Amelia Meals. Ada Amelia married George Leonard Pease, August 17, 1918. Any help is greatly appreciated, Merry Christmas to all, Happy Holidays and may the New Year find all those long lost ancestors.
