I will do that but the library in my city in the southwestern part of U.S. has a very LIMITED genealogy section and hasn't been of any help thus far. Are you related to the Cover's and then maybe to Elizabeth Null m. John Cover? Thanks again.
Fred, Do you happen to have a female Harris, born in Oh or IA, that married a Dunham, born in Oh or ND. They were in IA in 1869 when their dau Etna was born. Etna was my great grandmother and one of my "brick walls". Etna had two bro. named Harry and John. In all probability that would mean that his German HARRIS parents arrived from the Palentine about the time that Northumberland County was being broken up into Mifflin, Juniata, Cumberland etc., counties, so I really have no way of knowing where they landed. He was born in Mifflin Co., but since it constituted such a small part of Northumberland Co., they could have been in the part that was Cumberland Co before the re-alignment. A transcription I have of the 1850 census of Cumberland Co. indicates that Fred. (age 48) and Margaret (age 48) were living in Cumberland County, along with 7 children: 1 - Mary J, age 23, b. 1827, PA 2 - Catherine, age 20, b. 1830, PA 3 - Hannah, age 18, b. 1832, PA 4 - Eliza, age 14, b. 1836, PA 5 - John A., age 10, b. 1840, PA 6 - George, age 9, b. 1841, PA 7 - Hans or Hoys, age 2, b. 1848, PA Note: 1880 census lists John A.'s birth year at 1841, not 1840 John A. was my g-g-grandfather. My family notes show that he married Sarah A. Smith in Dewitt, Clinton Co., Iowa in 1868. They moved to West Side, Crawford Co., Iowa sometime shortly after, as their first child was born in West Side in 1870. I do not know if John's parents Fred. and Margaret, or any of his brothers and sisters also emigrated to Iowa. Any information about these Mooneys or any of their relations connected to Cumberland County would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I just had a thought and was wondering if anyone researching HANSHEW, HANSHAW, & STAVER...................and has any old pictures to compare to a few old pictures I have that a cousin's grandmother said she thought were of HANSHEWs and STAVERs.................can e-mail me and I can scan them and send them to you and maybe if we all compared pictures we can figure out who they are! They've been in my family and there is no one left that would remember, BUT there could be other families out there somewhere with even copies of the same families! Wouldn't that be neat! Well, if anyone wants to compare pictures or see what these look like (and maybe recognize!) just send me a note! sharon1@cfl.rr.com Sharon Frank in Fl. > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JaB.2ACE/1457.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Was Harper Handshew's wife a McCurdy?
