Hi members, I just joined the list and hope to find others researching the ROBISON/ROBINSON surname. Michael ROBISON was listed on the 1800 Fed. census, Juniata Township. Others ROBISONS in same Twp. were Samuel; Andrew; Joseph and William.. Were they related? I descend from Michael. This may be the same man that later migrated to Pike Co., Ohio, and still later settled in Pickaway Co., Ohio. He had a son Isaac who married Anna HUMES, dau. of James. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Patt Fulton e-mail: PattFulton!@aol.com

Marcia, The common denominator is Eckert. Margaret (Maggie) Jane Miller b:5 Apr 1849 father/Jacob Miller mother Margaret Haunsua mar Charles Malseed and both are buried In Duncannon Cem. Their dau Agnes Rosella mar Clarence Eckert son of David Eckert of E. Pennsborough.. I think Maggie had a sister Sarah 2 yrs younger. Davids brother John Eckert mar Aquilla Sophia Frank..her father is Abraham Frank, son of John and Elizabeth (Koontz)Frank. Jacob Miller served in the Revolution and was mustered in Lancaster 1777,1778 as Garrison duty Jacob is listed on a deed (York Co. Deed 2-A p.38) For the German Reformed in the town of Hanover. (These are in notes I have) Catherine Pfoutz b:1740 Little Conewago mar John Eckert. Possibly the g-father of David W. Eckert. Catherine Shellenberger mar Jacob L. Eckert. They died young and Issac Koontz was named guardian of one of their children as well as John Graybill and Shellenbergers. Let me know if you have any connections. Dru
The following names are in an 1846 petition presented to the court by Henry R. Caslow for the estate of Michael Pfoutz, located in Greenwood Twp. Perry County: Michael Pfoutz deceased, widow Sarah Eight surviving children; 1. Michael Phoutz, oldest son 2. Ann intermarried with William Kepner 3. Elizabeth intermarried with George Shuman 4. Rebecca intermarried with Henry R. Caslow 5. George Pfoutz (Frank Rinehart, guardian) 6. Sarah intermarried with Jacob Miller 7. John Pfoutz, second oldest son 8. Susannah intermarried with James Strawbridge The real estate of Michael Pfoutz (deceased) adjoining lands of the following: Christian Shelleberger, Benjamin Long, John Boals heirs, Henry Nipple. I would be interested in any information on Jacob Miller who was married to Sarah Pfoutz. Jacob Miller is the assignee of all the interest of John Pfoutz, John being out of the area and possibly the John Pfoutz who marries Susanna Fronk. Marcia Fronk
Dear listers, A most enjoyable discussion. > Incidentally, 1793-99 tax records for Tyrone Township list not only Christian Gumber, but also a John >Gumber (his missing father????) and a Valentine Gumber. A William Gumber witnessed at least two >legal documents for Christian. I surmise Christian's son William was named for this William. Tyrone township from sometime before the 1800 census had another Gamber group: Frederick Gamber born 07 December 1747 Oberhochstadt, Pfalz, his brother Valentine born 28 April 1754 Tulpehocken, Berks Co, PA, William Gamber born 07 February 1761 Lancaster, PA, and their families. These three were the sons of Wilbert Gamber baptized 09 May 1717 Niederhochstadt, Pfalz. (The family actually lived in the other half of the village, Oberhochstadt.) Wilbert with wife and three children arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Dragon from Rotterdam on 17 Oct 1749. He settled in Pine Grove twp, Berks (now Schuylkill) co, PA, though the family moved around a bit due to Indian Wars. Wilbert apparently died in Pine Grove after 1785 and his sons moved on. > You also mentioned in another message on this board that Johann Gamber, William's grandfather, came to >PA in 1732 as an indentured servant. Most researchers I've read are unsure of Johann's arrival in the US, >and as a result, it is questioned whether his son Christian (b. circa 1740) was born in Germany or in PA. I have another suggestion for the origin of Johannes Gumbert (or Gamber as he appears in a 1775 property record for Maidencreek twp Berks co). Wilbert arrived with a Johannes, likely a brother from Hochstadt. (Hacker transcribes the name "Oberlustadt", which is an error.) Maidencreek is maybe 15 - 20 miles from Pine Grove. Johannes reportedly arrived with three children. That sons of Wilbert and sons of Johannes should later end up in the same township on the other side of the Susquehanna suggests a relationship. Another point: the Johannes Gamber who arrived Philadelphia on Pleasant 11 Oct 1732 was 32. It would be unusual for him to still be alive after 1790. Regards, Dan Gamber www.gamber.net/gamber/

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JaB.2ACE/3004 Message Board Post: Hello Everyone, I have been searching for the parents of Andrew F. Ogg. I recently recieved information that my Andrew is likely the son of George Ogg and Rachel Friend. George was the brother of Vachel Ogg from my understanding. This Andrew is said to have been born about 1810 which matches the time frame of the Andrew I have been seeking. If anyone has any information to help me that would be wonderful. This is what I have so far: Most all records I have found him on it states he was born in Pennsylvania. He married Deborah Carr on February 7, 1850 in Athens County, Ohio. On the 1850 Ohio, Athens County, Ames Twp. Census it shows: Andrew F. Ogg, age 42, Carpenter Deborah, age 28 William, age 18, Carpenter (assuming son from prior marriage) On the 1860, Athens County, Rome Twp. Census it shows: Andrew F. Ogg, age 55, Carpenter Deborah, age 38 Mary, age 8 John W., age 6 Andrew A., age 5 (Ancil A.) Samuel C., age 6 1/2 months On the 1870, Athens County, Rome Twp. Census it shows: Andrew Ogg, age 65, House Carpenter, born in PA Deborah, age 50, Keeping House, born in PA Mary, age 18, Teaching, born in OH John, age 16, Farmer, born in OH Ancil, age 14, At school, born in OH Samuel, age 10, At school, born in OH and living next door to them at this time was Thomas Carr and his wife Linn and family. I suspect Thomas could be Deborah's younger brother?? Our family decends from the youngest son Samuel Carleton Ogg. His obituary stated that he was born in New England Town, Athens County, Ohio on January 31, 1862, but looking at the census records tell me he was probably born in 1860 insted. He ended up moving to Shelton, Washington and marrying Ada Delvina Johnston on November 30, 1891. He died in Shelton on Sept. 30, 1935. The majority of his decendants still live in the Shelton, Mason County area. Samuel and Ada had four children: Mary Vera Ogg b. Apr. 17, 1897 Dorothy Alice Ogg b. May 15, 1902 Charles Francis Ogg b. Mar 28, 1905 Carleton Andrew Ogg b. Mar 28, 1905 (twins) His older brother Ancil A. Ogg ( I am assuming the a is for Andrew) also came to Washington State and settled in the Yakima/Ellensburg area. He was born in Ohio about 1856. He married Lucy C. Leonard in Yakima, WA on Dec. 10, 1887. He died on Nov. 20, 1898 in Yakima County of Typoid Fever. Ancil and Lucy had two sons: Fred L. Ogg b. 1888 Phillip A. Ogg b. Abt. 1891 My task now is to connect my Andrew F. Ogg to his father and George sounds like a likely subject.

I note nearly everyone states that William was born in Westmoreland County in 1798. I agree with the 1798 date, but my research shows that Christian Gumbert and his family were still living in Tyrone Township, Cumberland County on at least April 15, 1800 when he and his wife Margaret signed a deed selling their land to Charles McCoy. They then left Cumberland County (now Perry County) and were in Westmoreland in time for the 1800 census. Based on this, I would contend that William was born in Cumberland County. Johan William Weber, a Luthern minister, baptized William (born Wilhelm) in Westmoreland on August 17, 1800. The same minister also later baptized Christian Jr.'s (William's older brother) two oldest children. Incidentally, 1793-99 tax records for Tyrone Township list not only Christian Gumber, but also a John Gumber (his missing father????) and a Valentine Gumber. Does anyone have documentation for the marriage of Jacob Heffelfinger b. 1795 to Esther Leim (Lime) ca 1813-14 possibly at a Lutheran Church? She is the dau of Michael Leim and Elizabeth and He is the son of Philip Heffelfinger and Catharine. Thank you for your time. Jane Germann, Storm Lake, IA.
Hello Fellow Listers: Was just informed that the Perry Historians' Annual Meeting Date has been changed from Saturday, May 10th to Saturday, May 17th. This change was due to not being able to find a church/building able to accomodate darkened windows to allow for a slide presentation. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. Best Wishes... My Eckert family in that time frame were in Cumberland Co. I keep all the info on Eckerts. You never know, they may be cousins. Thanks, Dru
Yes. I have Albert Nagle marrying Lizzie Eckert 2/8/1879. I have their children: Hattie 5/17/1881, Lydia (unknown), Florence 5/20/1893 m. Fred Zettlemoyer 12/19/1913, Levi (unkown). Florence and Fred had Albert Zettlemoyer. Fred was a professor at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. My mother in law remembers Florence and Fred as they visited and were relatives. (Albert Nagle was her father, Charles's, brother). She says she never saw Florence's mother or knew what happened to her. I hope this helps your search.
