Marie, I am interested in the family of Christian Dale/Deal and Magdalena Faust of Tyrone Twp, Cumberland County. Christian Dale died abt 1804 and left a will which mentioned wife Martha and children Paul, Mary Christiana, John Christian, Peter, Daniel, and Martha. In 1805 Peter Deal was listed as a tax payer in Tyrone Twp. Daniel and Paul Deal/Dale may be the Daniel and Paul who migrated to Miami County OH about 1817. In 1790 he was shown in the tax list for Tyrone twp among the following names: Nathaniel Peoples | 1 | | | | P142 | 6 | Andrew Linsey | 1 1 | 1 | | | L520 | 7 | Phillip Hullinger | 1 | 6 | | | H452 | 8 | George Ofints | 1 1 | 2 | | | O153 | 9 | Christian Deal | 1 3 | 3 | | | D400 | 10 | Benjamin Syock | 1 2 | 3 | | | S200 | 11 | Samuel Henderson | 1 | 2 | | | H536 | 12 | James Henderson | 1 1 | 1 | | | H536 | 13 | Robert Kennedy | | | | | K530 | 14 | Joseph Duncan | 1 1 | 1 | | | D525 | 15 | John Warden | 1 1 | 2 | | | W635 | 16 | Hugh Brady | 1 3 | 2 | 1 | | B630 | 17 | Mary Brady | 1 1 | 3 | | | B630 | 18 | Hugh Gibb | 2 | 1 | | | G100 | 19 | James McCormick | 2 2 | 1 | | | M265 | 20 | Sharon Mills At 06:30 PM 1/7/2006, you wrote: >Would anyone know if these are old Cumberland County >names from back in the late >1790's.................Klock, Diehl, Schlabig???? >They were associated with the German Reformed church, >but I'm not sure if it was in Cumberland County. >Perhaps somebody will recognize these old family >names. Surnames: Thomas & Neiman (Niman/Neighmon) Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JaB.2ACE/3476 Message Board Post: Is there anyone searching the Thomas (Tomas/Thommen) and/or Neiman (Niman/Newman - various spellings), before 1800? I think their surnames are listed in the index of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, PA. They could have been members at another church? There is a George Neighmon (Niman) seen in a tax list. He might have sons named Jacob & Michael (mar Catherine Unknown) Neiman. Not sure if George Neiman had daughters. I don't know the name of George's wife. Jacob Thomas (known wife was Margaret, but I don't know her maiden name). They had sons John, Henry, George, Adam b c 1770 and Jacob b c 1780 and a daughter Margaret b c 1764 that married Jacob Niman. My family moved to Tennessee sometime in the 1790's. Some could have stayed in PA. Appreciate any assist. I am trying to confirm that this is my family seen in Cumberland Co., PA records I have found on-line. Thank you, Barb
