    3. RE: LEININGER, LININGER - PA, MD (Leighninger, Leninger, Leinger, Linger, Linninger) I am looking for researchers of this lineage who would like to share, compare, maybe fill in some blank spaces and attempt to knock down a few brick walls. I do not have a lot of early history making solid connections. The family arrived in Philadelphia, early 1700's, settled in Chester Co, PA (became Lancaster and York Counties). Various members migrated into what became Cumberland Co, PA (later Bedford, Franklin, Mifflin, Northumberland and Perry Counties). Are there researchers who are of the lineage who migrated into Franklin and Somerset Counties, PA, along with Allegany and Garrett Counties, MD?

    3. Below is what is on Rootsweb for my GGG grandfather, the Rev., Simon Dreisbach. He was a minister for the United Church of Christ(German Reformed?). I have already looked at the Dreisbach Family Assoc. web site. I am looking for the church or churches that he served in Cumberland Co., Pa as I am trying to located baptismal records for his first two children: Mary Elizabeth and John Martin. This is for DAR papers, so if anyone knows which direction to point me in I would greatly appreciate it. I also live in Carroll co., Illinois where many from PA setteled. If there is anything I can do to locate info for anyone, I'm more than happy to do it. We have a wonderful genealogy network here, and I only live 7 mi. from court house. 3. My mother and aunts always worried at the English name. Of course, most of this work was done back in the 1950s/60s and it was harder to get information. I'm not sure they were ever able to prove the English connection, but it made sense. Especially since the one son was named Stewart English Withrow There was an English family in Fannin County, Texas. At least, the fort was named for them. Fort Inglish. I wouldn't be surprised if someday, you find a connection to my groups. *L* If you've got Kings and McGee and English, I'd say the families at least traveled together *LOL* Good luck with your research. It is hard trying to break those brickwalls. Barbara Julia Spicer wrote: >Thank you Barbara, but I can make no connection to this family. 1. Re: PACUMBER-D Digest V06 #10 GIBB of Mt. Holly Springs
    2. squirrelwhisperer
    3. Sorry for delay. This is in response to the person who asked about Edgar Gibb. Edgar Gibb, born around 1909, was one of the sons of Charles Cornelius Gibb(1883-1959) and his wife, Lulu Mae Mundorf (1884-1937), of Mt. Holly Springs. Edgar is listed in the 1920 Federal Census for Mt. Holly Springs, So. Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, PA. I have no further information on him; however, I wasn't particularly looking for him. Apparently he was still living in Mt. Holly Springs in 1930 with a wife and child. Charles and Lulu Gibb had three sons listed in the 1920 Federal Census: Harold Boyd Gibb (1/8/1911-5/30/1974), Edgar (born c. 1909), and Leroy M. Gibb (1906-1981). Lulu Mundorf Gibb and Leroy Gibb are buried at Mt. Holly Union Cemetery in Mt. Holly Springs, but I am not certain where Charles or his other sons are buried. Amy Gish may have that information. Charles Gibb gave his occupation as insurance agent in the 1920 Federal Census. Charles C. Gibb was the son of William H. Gibb Jr. (1853-1927) and Julia Peffer (or Pfeffer), the daughter of Lafayette Peffer (1824-1904) and Jane Ann Hemminger (1822-1900). William was a blacksmith. William H. Gibb, Jr. was the son of William G. Gibb (1823-1881) and his wife, Martha Matilda Simpson who died in Mt. Holly Springs in 1881. William H. Gibb Sr. was the son of Henry Gibb (1777-1861) who was born in Lancaster County. I do not have his mother's name. It could very well be that most of these people are buried at Mt. Holly Cemetery. I came across Lafayette Peffer's grave while searching for my Mundorf relatives there. I do not have a burial record for Charles or Edgar Gibb. James E. Mundorf was my gg-grandfather. Lulu Mundorf Gibb was his youngest sister. According to the DAR member who transcribed the bible of James Emanuel Mundorf in 1947, it was in the possession of Lulu's widower, Charles C. Gibb. If anyone traces this branch of the Gibb family, I'd be interested in the information.
