I have copies of Cumberland County Tax List for 1750, 1751, 1763, 1764. I would like to know for what other years in the colonial period tax lists exist, and where they can be accessed. (including townships in preset day Franklin County) Thanks for any help - John Polk --- John Polk --- Havre de Grace MD --- [email protected]

My ggggrandfather Emanuel Skinner was living there in the 1850 census at 20 yrs. old. His mother and father were both born in Pa. I believe him to be an orphan at a young age because of info i have on his Civil War pension papers. He worked for the CVRR and then the Mt Holly paper mill until his death in 1891. I can not find anything more on who his parents might be. Thank you.

The famous one in Philly (helped build Christ's Church etc) died in 1772 so can't be Jacob's master. But tonight I read about Thomas Paine. When he arrived in Philly in Nov 1774 he was taken to the home of Ben Franklin's friend, Dr. John Kearsey, "nephew of a more reknowned doctor of the same name". This one would certainly fit the time line. Maybe you already know all this, but it's been a while since we communicated and thought I would touch base.
