I have an interesting twist in my husband's family tree that I could use some help with. The old family bible lists Martha A. Fales marriage to one John M. Dunlap 3-10-1868. Thereafter all references are to Orson Leander Medbury (with one reference to a marriage year of 1867, which could be a mistake. Throughout the remainder of their lives the only name used is the Medbury name. Does anyone have information on either of these families? Any clues to solve this puzzle? There has been noted a family memory of a name change, possibly related to a conscription situation, but no indication of who was involved.
