Barb: I spent some time looking over " The Saeger Family " by Elizabeth Saeger Daniel and she does mention the following- The name Saeger / Sager / Seeger appears occasionally in old records of Germany and Switzerland. Conrad Sager of Zug, Switzerland, was killed by Austrians on a precipice in 1388. Burki Sager was a councillor in Bern in 1402, and John Sager was Governor of Arberg in 1553. Tradition also indicates that a member of the family was knighted Feriherrin von Seager of Seagersberg in the Austrian Tyrol. The Johan Nicholas Saeger family ( that relocated to Lehigh Co., PA ) came from - Brandau, Odenwald section, Starkenburg, of Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. lucy@cet.com
