On Nov. 1, 1800 Gideon purchased "72 Acres of land...part of lot 84", next to the property owned by his brother John, which has been recorded in March 1799. Gideon married Abigail reportedly of Farmington, but more likely of Lanesboro, Mass, around 1790. It is stated that in the later part of 1810, Gideon moved to Tioga Co., N.Y. but the above 72 acres were deeded by Gideon "of Farmington" to Timothy ALLEN on the 15 Nov. 1813. Two of his younger sons, however Jacob ( 1810 ) Benjamin ( 1811 ) are shown as being born in Broome and Tioga Counties N.Y. Sometime later he moved again to Crawford Co., PA where perhaps his oldest son John C. had migrated. a record there shows Gideon GRINDLE (sic) died in 1826 in Greenwood Twp. -- "Of All The Things I've Lost, I Miss My Mind The Most" KUHNIE the COON hunter mkuhn@enter.net
