Hi... I own a book titled "Southern Wood County Oral History Project" by Joseph Arpad. It is basically a book about the oil boom in Cygnet, Ohio in Wood County. When the oil boom hit Cygnet the town became very populated with people from Pennsylvania. A lot of them from the Titusville area. I have gone through the book and written down all the names of people that came from PA to this oil boom town. I thought if some of the folks on the digest had family that worked in the oil and they didnt' know where they went, this might help. Many of the folks that were interviewed said that their parents and grandparents came from PA but they didn't give their names. Here is a list of the names that I did find in the book that came from PA. Thomas Walsh came 1885 from Titusville George Grant from Titusville Jim McGuire 1886 from Titusvill Walter Hovis 1884 from Oil Creek The following just said from PA: Henry Apple Jacob Apple Mary Neier Jacob Neier Ben Sigworth William Hamman Joe Doyle 1903 Addie L. Slane Greer Imbrie Samuel Rickard John Myers Pete McVelia Robert Green Ralph Moran 1892 Mr. Porter Fred Sager Ralph Shaffer Mr. Sherrod L. Franklin Smith Andrew Merrill I have a family that was in Titusville in 1870. They eventually came to Cygnet where I find them in 1900. I don't know where they were inbetween. The name was Thomas Hodson. I was hoping that this might help someone that lost their relatives after the Titusville oil boom. Best Wishes Vicky Stozich
