Kay, I haven't heard this term before but if it is in reference to something that tasted delicious, perhaps it was an variation of "slurping good". If he had any kind of accent the "s" might not have been heard and the "ur" might have sounded like "air" and the "g" is silent also. You also indicated the word, "younze" in your subject line. That term is used a lot today in the Pittsburgh, PA area but I think the spelling is "You'ens" but pronounced like your phonetic version. In many cases it is like saying "are you" even though 'are' is often still said. Example: You'ens going to the store? or What are you'ens doing? (Used as plural as in asking two people) It is part of what is known as Pittsburghese. Don't know if this helps any. I'm more confident on the second and the 'lairpin' is a total guess. Hope you had a good weekend. We've had a lot of rain but some areas got too much and there was flooding and trees blown over. We were fine, no damage, but a golf tournament got called after 10 holes and I had been playing well and even shot a legitimate eagle on one hole. If you are not familiar with golf, it was a par 5 hole (meaning you should strive to get the ball in the hole in 5 strokes or less. My ball went into the hole from about 60 yards out on the third shot. Never did that before!!. A NY list I subscribe to is posting a mine surname roll call and I am gettin inundated with postings. Hope it slows down soon. Problem is they aren't putting the surnames in the subject line and you have to open each posting to see if anything is there that I might want. Still have about 20 to go. Take care, my friend. Karen
