Good morning. Here is my contribution to the roll call: Two lines of BOLLARDS came out of Crawford County, Pennsylvania. They are no doubt connected, but I have not found the common connector yet. So I will answer the Roll Call in two parts. Maybe someone out there has the connection. The first line involves the descendants of John H__ Bollard and Elzina __ (Barnum) Bollard. This branch is having its 100th Family Reunion on 17 July 1999 in Linesville. JOHN H__ BOLLARD (1811-1878) was born on 12-31-1811 in Hampton Parish, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. John was a shoemaker by trade, working seven years to learn his trade in England. He came to America in 1837. John landed in New York, went to Canada for a short time, then by way of Buffalo and Niagra Falls to Ashtabula County, Ohio. He bought a farm in Geneva and lived there for eight years. John married ELZINA ___ BARNUM (1819-1869) on 2-2-1841 in Geneva, Ashtabula County, Ohio. She was born on 10-10-1819 in Geneva, the daughter of Enoch ___ Barnum (1786-1875) and Emma Amelia (Hotchkiss) Barnum (___-___). They then moved to Harpersfield, Ashtabula County, Ohio for a year and then, in the Fall of 1850, they moved to Conneaut Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania near Linesville. They had 8 children (1) ANN ELIZABETH BOLLARD (1841-1926), (2) MARY JANE BOLLARD (1843-___), (3) RICHARD D__ BOLLARD (1847-1924), (4) HOMER ENOCH BOLLARD (1849-1926), (5) FRANCES EMMA BOLLARD (1854-1869), (6) JOSEPH BENJAMIN BOLLARD (1858-1903), (7) JOHN E__ BOLLARD (1859-1892) and (8) SARAH ELZINA BOLLARD (1861-1937). Elzina died on 1-24-1869 (at the age of 49 years, 3 months and 10 days according to her gravestone) in Linesville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania and was buried in the Conneaut Center Cemetery (also known as the Thayer Cemetery). John died on 9-20-1878 (at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 20 days according to his gravestone) in Linesville and was buried with Elzina. Incidently, RICHARD D__ BOLLARD (#3 above) married EMMA __ LAWRENCE and moved to Pocahontas, Pocahontas County, Iowa. They are responsible for a huge pocket of Bollards there. They are having a reunion the weekend after the Linesville Reunion. ALL BOLLARDS ARE RELATED AND, THEREFORE, I AM INTERESTED IN ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH A BOLLARD. Obviously, down through the years, others have married into this branch of the Bollard family. Those surnames are: WYATT, WATERS, LAWRENCE, BEAN, BOTT, TYLER, EARLY, STREAM, MCCLELLAN, MCCORMICK, STRICKLER, LYON, LUCAS, FLAHERTY, WALROD, LIKE, BUCHOLZ, CARNES, MCCONNELL, PENEFIELD, GREBL, GREINER, GRABLE, WINEGARDEN, WISER, COLLINS, STELPFLUG, EICHLER, CARNEY, FELTON, OLESON, BRETTHAUER, STARR, LITWILER, AND WHEELER. I have a great deal of information on all of these names. If any of you see a possible hit, please get in touch with me. I will share anything that I have in return for whatever research you have.
