In Meadville, 15 Nov 1882 of Bright's disease, Charles M. Brawley, father of Mrs. A. B. Church of Summerhill, aged 69 years and 6 months. At the residence of Col. John Robinson in Franklin township, Erie co., 12 Nov 1882 of Bright's disease, George E. Cheney, formerly of Steamburg aged 25 years, 10 months, and 7 days. In Summit township, 11 Nov 1882 of typhoid fever after a brief illness, Hattie, oldest daughter of M. F. and Isabel Ward, aged 17 years. In Saegertown, 9 Nov 1882 of consumption, Mrs. Hattie Balliet, daughter of Mr. Edmond Smith of Norrisville, in the 32d year of her age. In Adamsville, 7 Nov 1882 John R. Calvin, aged almost 80 years. On Saturday evening, about 100 relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. L. R. Klumph of this place, dathered at their residence to assist in the celebrationof one of those rare occasions, a golden wedding anniversary. The aged couple began their matrimonial journey through life at Springfield, Otsego Co., NY, 11 Nov 1832, moving to Conneautville in 1851, where they have since resided. Three childred blessed their union, Mort, now living at Miles Grove; Dorr, with whom his parents make their home; and Ida, wife of C. R. Beatty of Greenville....Lists guests. The 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. & mrs. A. L. Stevens of Summerhill township occurred on riday and was celebrated by a surprise golden wedding, in which ten of their 11 living children were permitted to be present and unite with a large number of other relatives, friends and neighbors in the festivities of the day. The couple were married in the township and neighborhood in which they have spent their whole married life. A second surprise, in which nearly all present shared, was the marriage of the youngest son and only unmarried member of the family, who presented his bride before the company and the ceremony was performed by Rev. W. W. Painter. Congratulations to the aged pair and the young couple were then in order, the officiating clergyman making appropriate remarks...All the children present live in this vicinity except the following: Mrs. A. V. Baldwin, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. W. H. Chapin, Franklin; Mrs. J. H. Maxler, St. Petersburg; and Mrs. M. J. Graff, Erie. The absent child is a son, living in Michigan, who was expected but for some reason failed to arrive. (NOTE: I'm related to this family and would like to correspond with anyone also related.)
