I just found my husband's grgr grandfather Jeremiah Waters in the 1860 Crawford Co. census and his occupation was Lawyer. Does anyone know what was required for one to set up a practice? Would one have to register with the State? I'm trying to find out where Jeremiah Waters came from and who were his parents. Thanks, Sandy
