John II born 1722 Grovesend Long Island NY and died at Murders Creek or Moodna Creek, Orange County NY. I also have he was commissioned a Lt. in 1754. John II had two sons: John III who was born 1/5/1756 in Orange County NY and died in NYC, NY Cornelius who was born 4/11/1768 also in Orange County and died 12/17/1820. He married Margaret Robinson. They had a daughter Jane VanOrsdale who was born 3/31/1795 and died 7/27/1875. Jane married Noah Hammond Davis and they had a son Joseph Hammond Davis in Sept. 1819. Joseph married Harriet Harper and my great grandmother Jennie was born in 1852. Joseph died in 1885. On Ancestry.com and the Family Center have VanOrsdale listed also as VanArsdale. Also I noted on Ancestry.Com Cornelius was listed as an officer in the Revolutionary War. I'm not actually going to believe its this Cornelius it may have been an earlier Cornelius. This Cornelius was born in 1768 and the Revolutionary War began in 1776 and that would have made him 9 years old. Also I've noted in Ancestry.com and Family Center sometimes Jane is listed and others she's not as a daughter of Cornelius. It looks as if Cornelius and Margaret had approximately 11 children.
