Whippo b.1896 Crawford/Venango/Oil City adopted My grandfather George Elmer Whippo was born in 1896 in Mead PA to his mother Nora Whippo, father unknown, and placed through Orphans Court for adoption. Reportedly adopted by Harlan McConaghy(sp?), then changed name back to Whippo upon entering the Marines in WWII. Would like to know father's name - no bc available.
