Surnames: Bresee, Burgess, Chipman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TdB.2ACI/1800 Message Board Post: I'm trying to find more information on Nathan and Huldah Chipman Bresee and their children. In some of my grandmother's notes she wrote that they were natives of NY state, but that they lived in Richmond Twp., Crawford County, PA in 1843. A family tree in an old Bible lists 6 children for them: Prentis N. Jim Elma Nancy Fremanette Livonia Irene Livonia Irene Bresee (b. 1853/4) married Edward C. Wightman -- they were my great great grandparents. Livonia died April 30, 1934 and is buried in Conneaut Cemetery. I have info on most of their children. I have an obituary for Hanna Fremanette Burgess, widow of Charles Burgess, from 1938 I think (the newspaper clipping is badly worn). My grandmother had attached it to a 1984 clipping of a funeral notice for Ethel Burgess Greaves, Hanna and Charles Burgess' daughter. It said Hanna's maiden name was Bresee and my grandmother wrote on the side that Ethel was Livonia's niece. Hanna and her daughter Ethel are both buried in Cambridge Springs Cemetery according to the clippings. Prentis N. Bresee -- My grandmother must've done some research on him at one time. There are some notes she wrote that say 10/28/1837, Trumbull Co, OH (birth??). He lived in Richmond Twp with his parents in 1843. He married Mary R. Marsh (born Medina Co, OH) on 6/11/1861. Children are listed as Effie, Wilbur, Chester and a fourth child that was deceased. I have no information on the other children -- Jim, Elma or Nancy Bresee. I found a James Bresee, born 1849, in 1880 in Vernon. It said his parents were born in NY. He had a wife, Emma, and daughters Gerta, Jessie and Bertie. I don't know if he is the right "Jim" or not. I'd appreciate any information on this family! Thanks in advance!
