The Linn Co., IA Genealogical Society is housed in the basement of the Masonic Library. Absolutely beautiful building. I don't know what their arrangements are, but I believe that the people working there are volunteers from the society. If Crawford co Gen/His society can't afford to pay someone, I am sure there are volunteers that would help keep it open once you find a place to house the society There are lots of ways to skin a cat. I suggest you call a meeting, set up a committee, put an article in the paper, the paper will probably do it for nothing as a human interest story and something that is needed to help keep the economics of Meadville alive. I hope the society has been keeping a journal of everyone that comes to the library. Highlight next to the name of out of towners, and take it to the city fathers.
