    3. Lavina was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Henry) McClurg, who lived in West Salem Township for many years, and were buried in the old Seceder graveyard in Greenville. Joseph was born in Ireland, and probably married Mary in Westmoreland County. A member of the McClurg family still owns the family home in Ireland, and the line has been carried back a generation or two before Joseph. Mary & Joseph had a large family, named by Joseph in a letter sent to his parents in 1820, before the birth of the youngest child, Daniel. The letter was preserved by the family. Lavina and Hugh Brown were ancestors of Madge Henry and her sister, Janet, who were long time members of the Mercer County Genealogical Society. They had information about Mary Henry's family, too, since they were also descended from another member of the Henry family. I'm do not know if that information is available, since both of the Henry sisters are dead. My husband is a descendant of Joseph & Mary's son, David, who later lived in North Shenango Twp., Crawford Co.
