If it was indeed Black Ash, as was suggested here, according to the USGS, that is an historical place 12 m. Southeast of Meadville, 12 m. south west of Titusville, and 9 miles northeast of Cochranton, at the south end of Grove Road. There doesn't appear to be anything any nearer than that on a modern map. I couldn't find a Beach Ash Post Office, but I'll try again!
