My GGGrandfather JOHN JOSEPH HIRST had a story written about his life in the Cleveland Leader Newspaper shortly before his death September 20, 1888 by J. H. Caldwell. John Hirst hauled the first load of oil from the Colonel Drake' s oil well to Union City. I have the newspaper article on his death, but I don't know from what paper it was from.
