His wife Gertrude PORTER SPENCER b. 10 Oct 1895, died November 1977 also in Venango Co., PA. George W.L. SPENCER listed in the bible was likely the son of Moses & Christiana SPENCER who were living in French Creek, PA during the 1880 census including George age 10, and two other children, Rebecca age 14, and John age 2, with the entire family noted as born in PA as were all of their parents. George's wife Florence Gertrude HICKERNELL was the daughter of H.F. HICKERNELL and his wife Maggie HICKERNELL who were living in Mead, PA during the 1880 census along with Florence Gertrude age 7 months, and two other children, Marrie age 9, and Albert M. age 5. All we noted as born in PA with all parents born in PA as well, except for Maggie's father who was born in France.
