I do not see anything wrong with charghing a fee to people who walk in the door for research, but I do think there needs to be a research room with chairs and tables at least... that standing up to do it all is prohibitive to some elderly or infirm researchers... As far as a sign goes, maybe that's why they are charging money, to have enough to use for those kinds of things. We were all gung- ho for the Hist soc library just a short time ago, so I say we need to have a little patience while they get going. I do agree that if they are charging money I would hope the results will soon be seen by the public.
