The POWER BLOCK built in 1868 and owned by the family that settled the town of Conneautville burned 14 September 2002. One of the older buildings in Conneautville, the mason and brick work were done by Carpenter and Matthews. The tin roof was put on by Krick and Sturtevant. The iron columns of yesteryear and castings were by Moulthrop and Sons. The carpenter was R. K. Dunn. Painting was done by A. S. Pond. All are memories of the past. A big thanks to all of the volunteer fire departments and their staff who came to town yesterday. -- ********************************* Patricia Butterfield Vedner, http://www.toolcity.net/~vedner Conneaut Valley Area Historical Society, 1625 Main St., Conneautville, PA 16406 Open 12-2:00 on Saturdays - Come visit us at http://www.cvahs.org
