WBM: Have you read the history of the MUMFORD family at the Crawford County web site? David MUMFORD had a son James, born in NJ (not NY, but you did have a question mark beside NY). This James was born in 1783 and married Catherine Wright. There is more information in the histories of early Crawford Co., on Mr. Yoset's site, I believe, which is a linked from the Crawford County site. I am descended from the above James' sister, Margaret. Your James may be connected to this family, even if he is not the son of David and Abigail Poole MUMFORD. Sally Price
