Diana: Mather was rather famous--there even is a book published about his work in the oil fields. Many of his surviving negatives are now owned by the Drake Well Museum in Titusville. He was in Titusville by 1865, and did not die until 1915, so he had quite a long career. I would imagine the Titusville Historical Society, the Drake Well Museum and/or the Crawford Co. Historical Society would be interested in scans of people who are identified. [they might allow Drake Well to identify some of the negatives in their collection by comparison.] Bill Moore ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 12, 2002 8:05 AM Subject: [Crawf'rd] Mather- Photographer > I was wondering if any one could tell me when the photographer; MATHER > was in Titusville, PA.
