OK, here's the scoop: 1) Go to familysearch.org 2) Click on the "Search" tab at the top. 3) In the left side of the page, click on "Census" 4) There will now be a place where you have to say which census (1880 U.S., 1881 British, or 1881 Canadian). Click on 1880 U.S. and wait for it to load. 5) Enter the info about your ancestor. I'd enter as little as possible, considering the inaccuracies of censuses. Like, first and last name, and the place you think they were living in 1880. The search will return possibilities, and you click on them (if there's more than one!) until you find the right family.
