James A. Gregory's grandparents and numerous relatives are buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Rome Township, about 10 mi. north of Titusville, so that probably accounts for the desire to print his obituary in a Titusville newspaper. The cemetery inscriptions were published in the Crawford County Genealogical Society's magazine for Spring/Summer, 1990, pp. 27-33. The Gregory annotations were based on a Gregory family chart provided by David Gregory of Bellaire, Mich. and Mary [Mrs. Jeffrey] Dunbar of Meadville, Pa. [pp. 37-40] (The Dunbars no longer live in Meadville.) The chart did not list James A. among the 4 children of James & Caroline, so apparently they hadn't found complete information on that family.
