Dave, I'll ask my Dad tonight. He is also a life long resident of Venango, Pa. The Benfields are ancesters of my family through the Schlossers. It was said to be located somewhere around Mosiertown or Saegertown. Do you know where they were before Crawford Co? I have some in Philadelphia and York Co in the 1700s, don't know where they ended up but Crawford is as likely as any other place I suppose... Jan
Jan, There is a guy, Chris Replogel at [email protected] Who did a lot of research on the Schlossers. Jonas Schlosser came from Whitehall Township, Northhampton, PA to Hayfield Township in 1823 and he married Anna Marie Benfield. His dad was named Jacob son of Peter who was a son of Leonhart.
